Student Health Services

Student Health Services are offered 24 hours a day through our Infirmary, located in Bradford Hall on the north end of campus. The purpose of the health services team, which consists of Virginia licensed physicians and nurses, is to provide supportive and supplementary health care to the students. Students are expected to have their own home based physicians with whom we can coordinate health needs and treatment, and the school is serviced by a team of physicians from Augusta Pediatrics in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Emergency care, laboratory, and hospital admissions are provided by our community hospital, Augusta Medical Center, which is located approximately five miles from the school. In the event of emergency, parents are immediately contacted. VSDB-S' personnel accompany students to the hospital to provide support and assistance, when needed.

Routine health screenings are conducted by skilled professionals as a standard of practice under the Virginia Department of Education. Medical staff members also provide instruction and information to promote health and safety with our students.
